Leadership

Margo Hields

President

Margo was a participant in the Vail Adaptive Program 23 years ago after receiving a heart transplant. The Vail Adaptive Program helped her return to skiing; she now skis 40 to 60 days a year. Because Margo knows how important this program was to her overall health and well- being, she is passionate about supporting Access Unbound in helping other adaptive skiers. Margo currently is a co-owner of Sportube and lives in the Vail Valley with her husband Paul.

Mary C. Zarba

Board of Directors Member and Secretary

Mary’s introduction to the Vail Resorts Adaptive Program was when her brother, Peter, was given the opportunity to ski with Katie Zinn. For the first time, Peter, who was in a wheelchair, was able to ski with his family. Mary has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare management. She is the owner of HeadFirst Consulting, based in beautiful Vail, Colorado.

Liz Leeds

Board of Directors Member and Treasurer

Liz’s career has centered around entrepreneurship, sales, and marketing. She started and ran a retail business in San Diego and was later recruited into IBM as an International Sales and Marketing Manager. Liz is currently a broker associate at Slifer Smith & Frampton In Vail, Colorado. She and her husband, Gary, moved to Vail in 1992, where they raised their children, Broby and Gabriela. Broby lives in the Vail Valley, where he began teaching adaptive snowsports. After Gary passed away from cancer, both Broby and Liz wanted to give back through their love of skiing. Liz enjoys doing volunteer work and making a difference in our world. She is excited to help Access Unbound with its future growth and development.

Will Coffman

Board of Directors Member

Will is an avid, independent, paralyzed skier. He credits his return to the slopes after many years off to the Vail Adaptive Program and his instructor, Katie Zinn. He is a partner at Bullhorn Creative, a branding agency based in Lexington, KY and Washington, DC. Before joining Bullhorn, he worked in politics and government. He and his wife, Katie, live in DC with their dogs, Alma and Levon. Besides skiing, their favorite shared activity is playing tennis.

Amy Dynda

Board of Directors Member

Amy learned about adaptive skiing in the 1990s when a good friend was able to once again experience the thrill of skiing he had experienced in his youth before an accident took the use of his legs. Amy resides in the Vail Valley and is the Managing Partner at Dynamyc Solutions, a Management Consulting and Executive Coaching firm. Amy has more than 25 years’ experience in management, consulting, and coaching. Amy wanted to make a difference in her community and felt inspired and connected to Access Unbound’s mission. She believes the organization’s commitment to more inclusive and affordable access to the mountain for skiers with disabilities is imperative so that those who want to experience the joy and exhilaration of skiing have the opportunity.

Kenzie Grant

Board of Directors Member

Kenzie grew up in Vail, falling in love with the mountains and skiing. She became a ski instructor in college and quickly gravitated toward the adaptive program. While not teaching, she works for Mountain Valley Developmental Services, providing recreational and homemaker services to locals with disabilities. She is lucky enough to witness firsthand the profound impact of a ski lesson on both the student and the instructor.

Katie Zinn

Executive Director and Board of Directors Member (ex-officio)

As a Vail Resorts Certified Instructor, Katie saw the financial barriers for adaptive skiers. Her enthusiasm for ensuring that all skiers have access to world-class recreational and learning opportunities, as well as her background in education, therapy, and not-for-profit management, inspired her to create Access Unbound. Katie saw the dramatic difference being able to ski made in the lives of students with disabilities both on and off the snow. Vail Resorts is very supportive of her using her passion to give scholarships to guests with financial need.
