"This truly is the highlight of our year and when Levi is truly his most happy self. His older brother really enjoyed the time he got to spend with Levi on the slopes. There are not many things they are able to do together as a family so this is truly a special time for them. Once again we thank Access Unbound and its donors for making this all possible for our family."

Snow skiing continues to be a cherished pursuit and a source of personal affirmation in spite of my blindness. As my skiing skills and confidence improve, the benefits spread throughout other areas of my life. Even before losing my eyesight, I did not dream that I would be downhill skiing at age 66. To experience the thrill of skiing at that age and blind generates personal optimism and encouragement to face new challenges in life.”

“For families like ours, this experience means more to us than just the simple joy of skiing. Special needs families often feel isolated and are often unable to participate in typical family outings because our loved ones can be disruptive or sensory-overwhelmed and can become a spectacle and cause embarrassment for their siblings. Access Unbound's mission allows families like ours to share in what is a ‘normal’ experience for other families—but is so hard to come by for families like ours. At the end of the day, it's unique and beautiful experiences that make life worth living.”
